On the 13th of December, a Sunday, my dad and i went to the Taylor's University Campus Open day. To be honest, i think i was actually the only person who had started A Levels 6 months ago, to be there that day, possibly even all 3 days!
What got me ticking was when we ( at college ) were told that our semester exam results would be used in order to apply to universities and so on. Obviously i was scared shitless at first because i know i did pretty crap in the exams, urgh please don't remind me. I later found out that only those applying overseas, mostly the UK and Australia, would greatly need these results. The two universities I'm interested in is Taylor's obviously and Monash. I finish around December 2010 and to my greatest dismay, both colleges have February intakes which means i don't get a good long holiday in between as i anticipated.
Okay so to my relief, these semester exams wouldn't be haunting me in the future, well not that i know of... yet! I can use my A/S results to apply to universities as most of the deadlines for February intakes are in December.
I don't exactly know what i want to do or what i want to be when i 'grow up'. It all seems like i have to know what i want to do now or i have to have a map or goal. Well i don't. I don't know what i want to do and i don't know my goals. I have a rough idea of what i want to do, but apparently that isn't really good enough. I'm only sixteen and personally i think that's way to young to figure out what you want to be doing for the rest of your life.
Anyhow, i found 2 courses I'm interested in and which i may be doing.
1.Bachelor of Arts
(Communication & Media Management)
2.Bachelor of Journalism
These are the only courses which i found interest in, they differ slightly from the courses which i found in Monash. The only problem is that Taylor's is linked with the University of South Australia, which is in Adelaide whereas I'm going to be going to Melbourne to finish off my University life. The advantage of this situation is that Taylor's synchronising all the assignments, coursework and everything with UniSA, this way its easier for students to transfer to Australia and their coursework and everything will be the same. In many and most cases, if the courses aren't identical to another university, even if its from the same campus in different countries. You'll need to change your course and the work may differ slightly which may cause you to fall back a little. Due to the obvious fact that i won't be moving to Adelaide and I'll be moving to Melbourne, I'll have to face this burden.
